The 2010 regular Legislative Session has begun! The first item of business was the Governor's State of the State address and her midterm budget adjustments proposal.

If you have any specific budget issues or concerns you want to see addressed, you can find your legislators and the e-mail addresses of individual lawmakers on the legislative website at Connecticut General Assembly website. This is a good source of information about proposed legislation. You can search for bills by key words, look up your legislators and track bills that are of interest to you. If you enter a bill number in the box at the top of the screen you will be sent to the "Bill Status" page. This page will show you all actions taken on the bill, the text of the bill, and where the bill is now.
The legislative website home page also has a link titled "Citizen Guide" and it contains helpful information about how a bill becomes a law, how to testify at a public hearing, "frequently asked questions" and short videos on how to become involved in the legislative process.
Let your voice be heard!
